Spider Veins

WHAT IS SPIDER VEIN TREATMENT?

Spider veins can be treated with sclerotherapy. In this rather simple procedure, veins are injected with the sclerosing solution which causes them to collapse and fade from view. It is a fairly quick painless procedure to achieve blemish free skin.

HOW FAST WILL YOU SEE RESULTS?

Results can be achieved after two weeks. However, it may be necessary to have follow up treatments on the same vein.

WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

The results are usually long lasting. You can also maintain results with top up treatments. However, it is important to remember that the treatment will not prevent new spider veins from emerging.

HOW LONG WILL THE TREATMENT TAKE?

The entire treatment only takes 20 minutes. The treatment must be administered by our specially trained doctor who will determine exactly where to administer the medication to achieve the best results for you. Topical local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin to minimize discomfort and you can return to normal activities afterwards.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

A common sclerotherapy side effect is bruising which generally resolves over one week. To speed up the healing process, we suggest arnica be applied on a daily basis. You may experience temporary soreness but this will subside within 48 hours.

WHAT IS THE COST?

The total cost of sclerotherapy depends on the number of vials needed to achieve the desired results. Prior to your first session, you will receive a treatment plan that outlines the anticipated cost.
